Betty White super fan.....

Can you see it?....

That's right, it is an autograph from Betty herself!!!!!

As you may have heard, I love the Golden girls and especially Miss Betty White!!! This is so special to me. I have loved the Golden Girls since I was 7 years old!!! I remember watching them with my mom and grandma and in fact my grandma and I still share this bond. I am now 30 years old and I still watch them with her. I always tell people that everyone jumped on my band wagon, I have loved Betty long before everyone discovered how great she is, I have been her fan for 23 years.
This is sitting at my office in a frame and let me tell you, this is a huge conversation piece. I cannot count on both hands how many people have said, did Betty sign that? Then the next question without fail is, " how did you get that?" I love to tell the story to people that come in and see it and now I will tell all of my blog friends.

My wonderful hubby has a hobby of collecting baseball player autographs. He has a very nice collection of baseballs, 8x10's and lots of baseball cards. It is a hobby that we both get into, we have so much fun going to Florida every March for spring training and getting autographs to add to his always growing collection, but that is a whole post on it's own. Anyway, he is always looking on a specific website for addresses for Sports players addresses so he can send autograph requests through the mail. We were just chit chatting about it one day and I made the comment that I would like to get Betty Whites address and then just kinda laughed it off. Jason mentioned that her address was on there if I would like to send something to her. I did not even have to think about it, of course I wanted too and i knew exactly what i wanted to send. Jason and started buying me all of the Golden Girls seasons on DVD and this Christmas we officially have all 7 seasons! So I decided that I would send her one of the DVD box covers, and of course pink being my favorite color, that was the obvious choice. So I sat down and wrote her a letter. I explained what Golden Girls meant to me and how it made me feel 7 again, I also told her that she reminded me of my grandma and I am extremely close to my grandma. I also thanked her for her work in the animal rights field. She is a huge animal activist. She is always doing charity work for human society's and anything to do with the treatment of animals and I respect that immensely. So I told her thank you for being a voice for the voiceless. I sent the request out on November 29, 2010 and began waiting to see what happened. Well, Dec and Jan came and went with no response and I was beginning to feel like I had wasted a DVD cover and postage. I told Jason how excited I was that I might get it back signed, and that it looked like I was not going to get it back at all. He told me that I needed to be patient, she was in high demand and it might take her awhile. So I tried to forget about it.

On February 27, 2010 I went out to get the mail and sitting in there was an manila envelope with Betty Whites Return address stamped on it. It is really cool to see her name and address stamped on an envelope that was addressed to me! Well I opened it and there it was! Personalized and everything!!! I was SO EXCITED!!! The first thing I did was call my grandma and tell her. I knew that she would appreciate it! The next day Jason and I took it to show my grandma and then went to Wal-Mart to buy a frame for it!

I brought it to work showed all my girls, put it up on my desk and the comments have been coming ever since. I also have the Betty White calendar in my office as well. I am sending her one more request to see if i can get her to sign a picture with her and various animals that came with her calendar. So we will see if I have just as good as luck this time. All I have to say is she is one classy lady!!

Anyone that knows me knows there are only two celebrities that I would love to meet in person, Carrie Underwood, and Betty White! I may never get to meet this two incredible women but at least I have a little piece of Betty with me every day!

Betty fanatic,
~Andi
