Season of Change

"As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." Genesis 8:22

I love Fall!!! I love everything about it. The chilly weather, bonfires, hayrides, fall festivals, pumpkins, the food, but most of all the colors. This time of year God really shows off! He paints our area with the most vibrant, beautiful colors, and He does a fantastic job of it! This past weekend I took our doxie dog to Anna, IL to participate in the annual wiener dog race and fashion show. As much as I enjoy watching our little Jake-dog get dressed up and race (which he won his heat of the race by the way) its the drive to Anna that makes this trip worth it all. I look so forward to it because the trees are almost in full colorful bloom, and the drive is so pretty. This year my husband could not make it, so i took my grandma with me and it was so enjoyable to take this ride with her.

When I think of Fall i think of change. The leaves and the seasons are changing right before our eyes and it got me to thinking, I have had a lot of changes in my life in the past three years, some very good and some not so good. Our lives have seasons just like the earth has seasons. We have our autumns, springs, winters, and summers. What I think is so amazing is that God is with us through every "season of change" in our life. We go through things that we are not sure we will come out of, kind of like winter: it's long, hard, and cold, but just when we think we cannot take anymore of the cold, the snow melts, a flower blooms, and spring comes. That is how life is. Changes, no matter if they are good or bad, are hard and no one likes them, but they happen regularly just like the leaves changing every year. What we need to remember when things change is that God never changes. He stays the same, and He never waivers. He may allow things to change in our life, just like He allows the leaves to change and die, but what happens to that tree in the spring? It comes right back to life and blooms new leaves! He brings us back to life, to our life, the life that sometimes is very hard to face and go through, but He is steady and He is always right there! In the past three years I have learned to rely on God so much more, and He has shown His love for me in so many ways. I am so blessed with my life, changes and all!

Love,
Andi

Do you have any pics of Jake in his costume for the race? I remember when I came to the office I got to see the pics of your little guy ;o) I love fall so much too for the beautiful colors and the crisp clean air. It's my favorite season by far.
