To all my Golden Girls!

"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble". Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Hey everyone! I have been away from my blog for awhile now, and I have no excuses except that I can get lazy and I went through a dry spell on things I wanted to talk about. But I am back and my head is full of blogs that I cannot wait to share with you!

So I have to let you in on a little secret that I have - I absolutely love "The Golden Girls!!" I could watch this show 24 hours a day and sometimes I do if there is a marathon on. They play this show on WE and Hallmark, and I watch them on both channels! I have seen the same episodes over and over again and they are still so funny to me.

I started thinking about this show that brings me so much joy. Here are 4 women from all walks of life and when they reach their early 50's they all end up in Miami and roommates. All four of them are so different from each other but that is what makes the show so funny. The running theme in the show is that these women, that are not blood at all, are still each others family. I love the theme of this show, that you don't have to be blood to be family. I started thinking about all of the Golden Girls in my life, the women that may or may not be blood related to me but they are as close, if not closer, to me than family. Some of these women have been my friends since we were kids, and some are new friends of mine, but each of them have played such an important part of my life and I love them very much.

Kaleen: What can I say, she is my sister and I love her so much. God placed her in my life when we were kids and she has been there for me and seen me through some of the very darkest times in my life. She has been my rock! I love you girl!

Melissa: She is my animal loving, sweet, and very caring friend. Even though we don't live close anymore she is always in my heart.

Kasey: There is not a time that I don't remember being her friend. We have been friends that long, and even though we may not talk but a couple times a month, I know without a doubt that if I ever need her she will always be there.

Britni: This is my baby cousin, but more than that, she is one of the closest people to me. I have watched her grow from an adorable little girl who use to play "house" with me, to a beautiful young women chasing her dreams! I am so proud of her and I hope that she gets what she deserves out of life! I love you sweetie!

Tammy: I have not known her as long as the other women that I have mentioned, but she has become one of my best friends. I love being around her. We laugh, talk, and then laugh some more. She is so great!

Jessica: Another friend that I have known more recently. We have a lot in common and not only do we work for the same company, but we share the same faith and love for God. I love talking to her, and being able to come to her about things that are bothering me with our job, and she totally understands and prays for me to get through whatever I am going through. What more could you ask for out of a friend?

Kim B: The funny thing about me and Kim's friendship is that it is all through email, phone, and blogging. I have seen Kim one time in person, when she came down from the home office, of the company that we both work for, for a meeting. She works for Country and when I first started she saved my life!!!! She helped me get through the first two years of being there!!! She is still with Country but in another department. She is also the reason for my blog, she has a blog and I enjoyed hers so much that I wanted to start my own. She is such a sweet person. I love talking to her and chatting with her through email. I am glad that God allowed our paths to cross. We may not be in the same town but I consider her a good friend.

Pat: OH this girl!!! She is one of the funniest women that I have ever had the privilege of knowing!!! I love being around her, and she always makes me laugh with the things that she says, her perspective on life, and her crazy "Pat-isms." She always puts a smile on my face and a giggle in my heart!!!

Patty S: She is the most positive woman in my life. I love being around her. She always has something positive to say, and we all need more positivity in our lives. She is a giving person, a sweetheart, and she always brings such a good feeling to everyone who is around her.

Patty K: There are so many things I could say about this woman. She is not only my boss but she is also a very dear friend. We are so close that we know what the other one is thinking. She took a chance on me when I was about at my wits end looking for a job, and God led me to her door. She is such a positive, caring, self sacrificing, and giving woman. She has taught me so much, not only about our occupation but in how to be a giving woman.

and lastly...

my Mom: My Mom is one of my best friends. My Mom and I have always been close, even in those teenage years. We have stayed close throughout my life. At this point in my life, I still see her as my Mom, but I also look to her as a close friend. I love spending time with her. She ALWAYS makes me laugh! My mom has taught me so much in life, but in the past 4 years the thing that my Mom has taught me most is how to be a strong woman. My Mom found strength within herself to overcome the most unbearable event in her life, and she came out the other side a stronger, braver, more confident woman. I can only hope to have that kind of strength reflect in me. We both know where that strength comes from and she is not ashamed to tell anyone who asks. It came from the one and only living God!! If He brought you to it, He will get you through it, and my Mom is living proof of that. I am so proud to call you my Mom, and even more proud to call you my friend. I love you!

There are so many other women in my life that have had a major influence on me. I could do two-to-three blogs just on them.

All of these women have played an important part in my life, and I love them and thank them for their support and love.
I know those of you reading this have your own "Golden Girls" in your life. Give them a call or drop them an email and let them know how much you appreciate them and love them. They deserve it.

So to all my Golden Girls, Thank you for being my friend!!!!

xoxo,
Andi
